On 9 October 2025, Ambassador Chittipat Tongprasroeth paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Gunther Krichbaum, Minister of State for Europe of the Federal Foreign Office. They discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and enhance partnership between Thailand and Germany as well as to promote closer people-to-people ties.

Germany is Thailand’s largest trading partner in the EU. Thailand and Germany have enjoyed close and cordial diplomatic relations for over 163 years. German tourists are the largest group of European visitors to Thailand. In addition, the two countries engage in close cooperation in areas such as climate change, vocational education, renewable energy, innovation, and technology development.
