On 20 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Chittipat Tongprasroeth, Ambassador of Thailand to Germany, accompanied H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, to meet with H.E. Mr. Florian Hahn, Federal Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.

The Thai side reaffirmed the stability of the current government, while underscoring Thailand’s readiness to further elevate Thai–German relations, particularly in economic aspect through investment in future industries, the advancement of negotiations of the Thai-EU FTA and the Landbridge project. The German side reaffirmed its 164-year diplomatic relations with Thailand, and express intention to work together to promote democracy and economic opportunities, and the development of tangible cooperation through the formulation of a bilateral Joint Roadmap. In addition, both sides exchanged views on the situation along the Thailand–Cambodia border and developments in the Middle East.
