The German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) opened the newly established Bundeswehr Joint Forces Command (BwJFC) to a visit by members of the diplomatic corps on 14 July 2025 with a participation by Mr. Ratthawoot Nathaikuakool, Counsellor from the Royal Thai Embassy. This new Joint Command merges two previously existing commands into a single unit. Its main objective is to enhance Germany’s ability to respond to national and European security threats arising from regional conflicts and intensifying geopolitical tension as well as serve as a main contact point between Germany and NATO and the European Union.

The Command is also designed to strengthen Germany’s capacity to counter pressing hybrid threats, which include disinformation, cyberattacks, espionage, and sabotage. These threats have seen a significant increase in Germany in recent years.
