On 27 September 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Berlin, in cooperation with Goldhahn und Sampson, brought an authentic taste of Thailand to the city’s culinary scene with a special Thai Master Class. Led by renowned Chef Chumpol Jangprai, a two-Michelin-star chef from Thailand, the event offered Berliners a unique opportunity to experience world-class Thai gastronomy.

 

Ms. Chompoonute Chompookam, Minister, welcomed over 20 participants—Berliners passionate about food and cultural discovery—reflecting the city’s growing interest in cooking courses that extend beyond recipes to offer authentic techniques and insights into global cuisines.

 

Under Chef Chumpol’s expert guidance, participants prepared three iconic dishes: Beef Green Curry, Spicy Shrimp Salad with Caviar, and the beloved dessert Mango Sticky Rice. Participants not only mastered authentic cooking techniques through step-by-step instruction, but also discovered the history, cultural significance, and unique ingredients that define Thai cuisine. Together, these elements gave attendees the confidence to recreate Thai food at home and share their new knowledge with others.

The event also highlighted Thailand’s new Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), which supports cultural exchange and tourism. The DTV allows multiple entries and stays of up to 180 days for activities such as Thai cooking classes, Muay Thai, sports, wellness, seminars, and festivals—offering visitors rich opportunities to experience Thai culture in depth.
