On September 4, 2025, H.E. Mr. Chittipat Tongprasroeth, the Ambassador of Thailand to Germany, met with H.E. Ms. Livia Leu, the Ambassador of Switzerland to Germany, for an exchange of views on the multifaceted relations between Thailand and Switzerland. Discussions focused particularly on trade, with Switzerland ranking as Thailand’s second-largest trading partner in Europe and, the largest when measured per capita. The two sides also explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation in sustainability and to deepen people-to-people relations.

In addition, the Ambassadors discussed global issues such as the situation between Russia–Ukraine, the political developments in Thailand and the situation along the Thai–Cambodian border. Ambassador Chittipat reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to the ceasefire agreement and to resolving border issues through bilateral mechanisms, with a view to preserving peace and stability in the region.
