On 7 August 2025, Ambassador Chittipat Tongprasroeth met with Mr. Frank Hartmann, Director-General for Asia-Pacific at the German Federal Foreign Office to provide an updated development and fact-based information of the Thai-Cambodian border situation. He reaffirmed Thailand’s position of upholding peace with Cambodia and resolving disputes through existing bilateral mechanisms.

The Ambassador also stressed that Thailand was compelled to use military measures to respond to attacks on Thai civilians and an act of defending the country’s sovereignty in accordance with international law and the UN Charter. Thailand remains committed to observing the ceasefire agreement and to implementing the outcomes of the most recent General Border Committee (GBC) meeting in Kuala Lumpur in good faith, with the aim of ensuring the people’s well-being and achieving sustainable peace.
