On 22 August 2025, Ambassador Chittipat Tongprasroeth met with H.E. Ms. Natasha Smith, Ambassador of Australia to Germany, to provide factual information regarding the Thai-Cambodian border situation. Ambassador Chittipat reiterated Thailand’s firm stance on resolving the conflicting issues through bilateral mechanisms and adherence to the ceasefire agreement. He also referred to the repeated incidents in which Thai soldiers stepped on anti-personnel mines, for which Thailand has clear evidence that they were newly planted.  This constituted a violation of Thailand’s sovereignty by the Cambodian side, as well as a breach of international law, the ceasefire agreement, and the Ottawa Convention.
