1. Einreisemaßnahmen für verschiedene Gruppen von ausländischen Reisenden

Ausländische Reisende, die nach Thailand einreisen wollen, können in die folgenden Kategorien eingeteilt werden :

1. Ausländer, die für die Einreise nach Thailand kein Visum benötigen (Visa Exemption)
2. Ausländer, die für die Einreise nach Thailand ein Visum benötigen
3. Ausländer, die bei Ankunft in Thailand ein Visum beantragen können (Visa on Arrival)

Diese 3 Einreisemaßnahmen hängen von der Nationalität, dem Zweck der Einreise nach Thailand und der Dauer des Aufenthalts in Thailand des Reisenden ab. Nähere Informationen dazu finden Sie auf unserer Website: Länderliste und Hinweise

2. Der Reisepass (Ordinary Passport)

(DE) Der Reisepass (auch vorläufiger Reisepass), Kinderreisepass, oder das Reisedokument muss am Tag der Ankunft in Thailand mindestens 6 Monate gültig sein.

Kinder dürfen mit einem deutschen Kinderreisepass einreisen, eine Einreise mit einem Kinderausweis nach Thailand ist nicht möglich. Inhaber von blauen Reiseausweisen und grauen Reisedokumenten (in Deutschland ausgestellter Passersatz für Asylbewerber, Flüchtlinge und Staatenlose) müssen unbedingt vor Reiseantritt ein Visum beantragen.

Die Thailändische Botschaft in Berlin stellt keine Visa für Personen aus, deren Reisepässe bei der Einreise nach Thailand weniger als 6 Monate gültig sind. Beträgt die Gültigkeit des Reisepasses weniger als 6 Monate, wird die Einreise nicht gewährt, sodass die sofortige Rückreise anzutreten ist. Daher wird ausdrücklich darauf hingewiesen, auf die Gültigkeit des Reisepasses zu achten.

(EN) The passport (also temporary passport), children's passport, or travel document must be valid for at least 6 months on the day of arrival in Thailand.

Children are allowed to enter Thailand with a German children's passport, it is not possible to enter Thailand with a children's identity card. Holders of blue travel documents and gray travel documents (passport substitute issued in Germany for asylum seekers, refugees and stateless persons) must necessarily apply for a visa before departure.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Berlin will not issue visas to persons whose passports are valid for less than 6 months upon entry into Thailand. If the validity of the passport is less than 6 months, entry will not be granted and the immediate return journey must be made. Therefore, it is expressly advised to pay attention to the validity of the passport.  

3. Visumspflicht (Visa requirement)

(DE) Deutsche Staatsangehörige, deren Zweck der Reise rein touristischer Natur ist, dürfen sich bei einer Aufenthaltsdauer von bis zu 30 Tagen pro Einreise ohne Visum in Thailand aufhalten, auch bei Einreisen über Landweg. Bitte beachten Sie, dass ein visumfreies Gesamtaufenthalt von 90 Tagen innerhalb von 6 Monaten (ab dem ersten Einreisetag) nicht überschritten werden darf. Ist ein längerer Aufenthalt geplant, so muss vorab ein Visum beantragt werden.

(EN) German citizens whose purpose of travel is purely touristic may stay in Thailand without a visa for a duration of stay of up to 30 days per entry, including entries by land.Please note that a visa-exemption total stay of 90 days within 6 months (from the first day of entry) may not be exceeded. If a longer stay is planned, a visa must be applied for in advance.

4. Visumsgültigkeit und Aufenthaltsdauer im Königreich (Visa validity and duration of stay in the Kingdom)

Visumsgültigkeit (Visa validity)

(DE) Die Beantragung des Visums ist frühestens 3 Monate vor Reiseantritt nach Thailand möglich, da das Visum für eine Einreise ab Ausstellungstag für 3 Monate gültig ist. Im Falle, dass ein Visumantrag früher als 3 Monate wie genannt eingereicht und dadurch die Visumsgültigkeit vor Einreise in Thailand abläuft, wird die Botschaft die Gebühr nicht zurückerstatten und es müsse ein neues Visum beantragt werden.

Sie können die Gültigkeit Ihres Visums überprüfen, vom Anfangsdatum (VALID FROM) bis zum Ablaufdatum (VALID UNTIL). Der Antragsteller muss also spätestens innerhalb des Ablaufdatums (VALID UNTIL) nach Thailand einreisen.

(EN) The application for the visa is possible at the earliest 3 months before the start of travel to Thailand, as the visa is valid for entry for 3 months from the date of issue. In case a visa application is submitted earlier than 3 months as mentioned and thus the visa validity expires before entering Thailand, the Thai Embassy will not refund the fee and a new visa would have to be applied for.

You can check the validity of your visa, from the start date (VALID FROM) to the expiration date (VALID UNTIL). So the applicant must enter Thailand within the expiration date (VALID UNTIL) at the latest.

Aufenthaltsdauer im Königreich (Length of stay in the kingdom)

(DE) Nach der Einreise in Thailand hängt die genehmigte Aufenthaltsdauer in Thailand von der Visumart ab, die Ihnen ausgestellt wurde (VISA TYPE). Die genehmigte Aufenthaltsdauer beginnt mit dem Einreisetag. Das Ein- und Ausreisedatum wird vom Immigration Office in den Reisepass gestempelt. Die Einreise in das Land wird nur vor Ort vom Immigration Office Thailands gewährt und kann trotz eines gültigen Einreisevisums abgelehnt werden.

Bitte beachten Sie, dass das Visum mit einmaliger Einreise (Single Entry) eine einzige Einreise in Thailand gestattet. Nach der Ausreise aus Thailand wird Ihr Visum ungültig und kann für eine Wiedereinreise nicht beansprucht werden (selbst wenn das Visum noch nicht abgelaufen ist).

(EN) After entering Thailand, the authorized duration of stay in Thailand depends on the type of visa you were issued (VISA TYPE). The authorized duration of stay starts from the date of entry. The date of entry and exit will be stamped in the passport by the Immigration Office. Entry into the country will only be granted locally by the Immigration Office of Thailand and may be refused despite a valid entry visa.

Please note that the single entry visa allows a single entry into Thailand. After leaving Thailand, your visa becomes invalid and cannot be claimed for re-entry (even if the visa has not yet expired).

Wichtige Hinweise: (Important notes:)

1. (DE) Bei der Einreise nach Thailand am Flughafen beachten Sie bitte im Stempel des Immigration Office in Ihrem Reisepass das Einreisedatum (ADMITTED…) und das Datum, an dem der erlaubte Aufenthalt abläuft bzw. das letzte Datum, an dem Sie aus Thailand ausreisen müssen (UNTIL…) und befolgen Sie dieses, sonst können Sie gesetzlich bestraft werden (Geldstrafe und/oder Freiheitsentzug). 
   (EN) When entering Thailand at the airport, please note in the Immigration Office stamp in your passport the date of entry (ADMITTED...) and the date on which the authorized stay expires or the last date on which you must leave Thailand (UNTIL...) and follow it, otherwise you may be punished by law (fine and/or imprisonment).
   
   
2. (DE) Inhaber eines Touristenvisums und eines Non-Immigrant-Visums müssen umgerechnet mind. 20.000 Thai Baht und zusammen als Familie mind. 40.000 Thai Baht bei der Einreise in bar nachweisen können. 
   (EN) Holders of a tourist visa and a non-immigrant visa must be able to provide the equivalent of at least 20,000 Thai Baht and together as a family at least 40,000 Thai Baht in cash upon entry.
